Hi! my name is Violeta Zamora- Agg, welcome…
I’m a freelance illustrator with a background in journalism and media production.
My illustration journey began with experiments in narrative surface pattern design, food illustration, and editorial work.
In December 2024, I graduated from the 2023–2024 Pathways into Children’s Publishing program, where I honed my skills in children’s illustration. Through the program, I received training from esteemed publishers such as Quarto, Bloomsbury, Nosy Crow, and Walker Books.
My style is deeply inspired by the incredible work of midcentury picture book illustrators like Roger Duvoisin, Miroslav Šašek, and Mary Blair. I also draw inspiration from the humor of vintage cartoons and the charm of stop-motion animation films. The character designs from Hanna-Barbera, Charles M. Schulz, and the Rankin/Bass specials hold a special place in my heart.
In my creative process, I blend digital techniques with analog textures. Currently, I’m exploring traditional methods, experimenting with gouache, screen printing, colored pencils, and charcoal to deepen my practice.
I find great joy in bringing my characters to life and helping them discover the stories they want to tell.
